Where’s the Freight? Texarkana, Dodge City, Buffalo, El Paso and St. Cloud To See High Demand for Trucks This Week

Welcome to the newest edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight market forecast for carriers and owner operators.
In today’s freight market forecast, you can see that our Top Five Hottest Markets list is dominated by reefer and power only markets. Once again, the Texarkana, Texas, reefer market comes in at number one in our Top Five, projected to see the highest demand for truckload capacity across the United States and Canada in the coming week. Another Texas market, the El Paso, Texas, power only market appears in today’s Top Five, as well. Also of note in today’s freight market forecast, demand for power only capacity to/from Saginaw, Mich., is expected to increase this week, as will demand for dry van capacity for Ottawa, Ontario.
Here’s what else you expect from U.S. and Canadian freight markets over the next five to seven day period.
Where Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Winnipeg, Manitoba, are expected to increase.
Reefer demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, and Dodge City, Kan., are likely to be extremely high. Reefer demand to/from Spokane, Wash., is projected to rise.
Power only demand and rates for Buffalo, N.Y., El Paso, Texas, and St. Cloud, Minn., likely will be high. Power only demand to/from Saginaw, Mich., and Pittsburgh is expected to increase.
Dry van demand and rates for Ottawa, Ontario, are likely to increase.
Where Freight Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Washington D.C., Brooklyn, N.Y., and El Paso, Texas, will be very low.
Reefer demand and rates for Pittsburgh are projected to be low.
Power only demand and rates for Wichita, Kan., are likely to be extremely low. Power only demand to/from Jonesboro, Ark., is expected to decline.

Five Coldest Markets this week: 1. Wichita, Kan. (power only), 2. Washington D.C. (flatbed), 3. Brooklyn, N.Y. (flatbed), 4. Pittsburgh (reefer), and 5. El Paso, Texas (flatbed).
Market To Watch: The El Paso, Texas, power only market will favor owner operators and carriers by more than two to one this week, meaning there should be at least two loads available to every truck running into and out of the region.
Over the next week, demand for reefer capacity inbound to and outbound from Texarkana, Texas, is expected to be twice as high as it was during the same week last year.
