In each Employee Spotlight, you’ll learn about what each employee does here at Trucker Tools and a little bit about who they are outside of work. This newest spotlight blog is all about Michael Tho who works as a full stack engineer for Trucker Tools. Michael first came to Trucker Tools in 2020 as an intern. Today Michael’s work focuses on our frontend website, backend APIs and database. When he’s not working, Michael enjoys spending time outdoors and creating terrariums and aquariums.

“I work as a full stack engineer which is comprised of working on the frontend website, backend APIs and database,” Michael said. “On a day to day basis, I work on any requests, issues, reports and new projects. I bounce back and forth between meetings, coding and investigations.”
“This is my first professional job,” Michael shared. “Prior to working at Trucker Tools, I was a full time student at George Mason University. I was introduced to the company and recommended by my teacher, Erhan Uyar.”
“I love the family aspect of the company and that everyone is familiar with each other,” said Michael. “It makes for an exciting day at work with how you are treated and how we all interact. I enjoy the flexibility in the work I do since I get to touch many aspects of the company. I get to work with many different people both internal and external to the company.”
“I truly enjoy nature and I go out to nature trails to find inspiration,” Michael said. “I love doing projects such as creating vivariums (terrariums) and aquariums. I also enjoy watching anime and anything I find on Netflix. I like any high production movies/series like Star Wars and Marvel and the effort that goes into them. I love K-pop and EDM for music. I love going on road trips and venturing out to Baltimore, Richmond and Shenandoah.”
“My mentor was Erhan Uyar, who brought me into Trucker Tools,” Michael shared. “His role was to help everyone in the company, touching every technical aspect. Unfortunately he has since moved to another company, but now I have taken up his role of assisting everyone to the best of my abilities.”
