If you or one of your drivers runs a load for a freight broker who uses Trucker Tools to track loads, you have the option of using the driver’s Blue Ink Tech ELD to track the load in addition to the driver app. When a load is tracked with a BIT ELD, the freight broker will still receive the real-time load data their shippers require. Instead of that location data coming from the Trucker Tools driver app and driver’s smart phone, it will come from the driver’s BIT ELD. When you track a load digitally with either an app or ELD, freight brokers can instantly see where the truck and load are once you’ve left the shipper’s facility. Access to this real-time load tracking data often reduces or eliminates check calls from brokers, minimizing distractions for drivers and driving greater efficiency for carriers.
Benefits for Freight Brokers and 3PLs
The integration partnership between Trucker Tools and Blue Ink Tech gives freight brokers an additional visibility technology option to offer drivers and carriers. If for some reason a driver or carrier prefers ELD-based load tracking with their BIT ELD over app-based load tracking, you can accommodate that driver or carrier with ease. When tracking a load with the driver’s Blue Ink Tech ELD, you’re able to view the real-time location of the truck and load in Trucker Tools’ Smart Capacity software platform (or in your TMS). As such, your ability to provide real-time location updates to your shippers and to deal with service delays in real-time isn’t diminished when a load is tracked with the ELD. Thanks to this integration partnership, you’re able to honor the driver/carrier’s technology preferences without negatively impacting service levels.
