Happy New Year! As we turn the page on 2020 and enter our first week of the new year, Trucker Tools Market Index shows sustained demand for all types of capacity, but especially high demand for reefer. Outbound reefer tender rejection rates peaked at approximately 46 percent just before Christmas, and last week reefer rejection rates in some areas hit 65 percent. This is quite different from previous years, when reefer rejections rates declined during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
In the first Trucker Tools Market Index Report of 2021, we’re
seeing elevated demand and rates across several markets in the South and
Midwest, while some markets in the Northeast and Northwest are cooling. Heavy
winds and snow are forecast for the coming week across the Northwest, so please
stay safe out there!
