Happy Monday and welcome to the newest edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight market report for owner operators and trucking companies. This three times per week freight forecast uses real-world data to tell you where demand and rates will be highest and lowest in the United States and Canada over the next five to seven day period.
In today’s edition
of “Where’s the Freight?,” you’ll notice that reefer and power only markets
dominate our Top Five Hottest Markets list, with the Dodge City, Kan., reefer
market claiming the number one spot in today’s Top Five. Over the next week,
you can expect flatbed demand and rates to be extremely low in two New York
markets, while Mobile, Ala., will see a decrease in power only demand this
week.

Where Freight
Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Texarkana,
Texas, and Montgomery, Ala., are expected to increase.
Reefer demand and rates for Dodge City,
Kan., and Texarkana, Texas, will be extremely high. Demand for reefer capacity
to/from both Dodge City, Kan., and Texarkana, Texas, is likely to rise.
Power only demand and rates for New
Castle, Del., San Diego and San Antonio are projected to be high. Power only
demand to/from Jacksonville, Fla., likely will increase.
Where Freight
Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Ithaca,
N.Y., El Paso, Texas, and Brooklyn, N.Y., are likely to be extremely low. Flatbed
demand to/from Huntington, W.Va., is projected to decline.
Reefer demand and rates for Pittsburgh
and Montreal, Quebec, are expected to be very low.
Power only demand and rates for Las Vegas
and Mobile, Ala., are expected to decrease.

Five Coldest Markets this week: 1. Ithaca, N.Y. (flatbed), 2. Pittsburgh (reefer), 3. El Paso, Texas (flatbed), 4. Montreal, Quebec (reefer), and 5. Brooklyn, N.Y. (flatbed).
Market To Watch: Over the next week, the Dodge City, Kan., reefer market, which is number one in today’s Top Five Hottest Markets list, will see demand increase further.
In the coming week, demand for power only capacity to/from New Castle, Del.,will be five times higher than it was during the same week last year.
The outbound Texarkana, Texas, flatbed market will favor owner operators and carriers by two to one this week.
