Where’s the Freight? New Castle, Macon, Tucson, Jacksonville and Texarkana Top Markets for Owner Ops and Fleets This Week

Happy Wednesday and welcome to the Wednesday edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight forecast for drivers and fleets. In this and every edition of our forecast, you’ll discover where demand for dry van, reefer, power only and flatbed capacity will be highest and lowest across the United States and Canada in the coming week.
Over the next five to seven day period, you can expect strong demand and rates for power only capacity inbound to and outbound from New Castle, Del., and Jacksonville, Fla., while New Orleans is projected to see low levels of demand for power only capacity. If you run flatbed, you’ll want to avoid accepting loads to/from Joplin, Mo., Springfield, Mass., and Flagstaff, Ariz., this week, as demand and rates are projected to be extremely low in these markets. In other news, reefer demand is projected to be strong this week for Macon, Ga., Texarkana, Texas, and Spokane, Wash. In the coming week, Macon, Ga., also will be a hot market for dry van loads.
Where Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Gary, Ind., are likely to increase.
Reefer demand and rates for Macon, Ga., Tucson, Ariz., and Texarkana, Texas, are expected to be extremely high. Reefer demand to/from Texarkana, Texas, and Spokane, Wash., is projected to rise.
Power only demand and rates for New Castle, Del., and Jacksonville, Fla., likely will be high.
Dry van demand and rates for Macon, Ga., and Pittsburgh are likely to increase.
Where Freight Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Joplin, Mo., Springfield, Mass., and Flagstaff, Ariz., will be extremely low. Flatbed demand to/from Ithaca, N.Y., is projected to decline.
Reefer demand and rates for Billings, Mont., will remain low.
Power only demand and rates for New Orleans are projected to be very low. Demand for power only capacity to/from Tulsa, Okla., is likely to decrease.
Dry van demand and rates for Huntington, W.Va., is expected to decline.
Auto carrier demand and rates inbound to and outbound from San Antonio is likely to decrease.
