Where’s the Freight? San Diego, Texarkana, Jonesboro and Tucson Hottest Freight Markets Over Next Week

Welcome to a brand new edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight forecast for carriers and owner operators. Each edition of our free freight forecast includes information on where demand and rates for flatbed, reefer, power only and dry van freight will be highest and lowest over the next five to seven day period.
In the coming week, you can expect demand for power only capacity to be extremely high in several markets, including San Diego and Mobile, Ala. If you run reefer freight, you’ll want to target loads into and out of Texarkana, Texas, this week, as demand is projected to be high and to increase further over the course of the week. Over the next five to seven days, demand and rates for dry van capacity inbound to and outbound from Ithaca, N.Y., are projected to increase, while Minot, N.D., will see very low demand for dry van capacity.

Where Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, are projected to be high.
Reefer demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, Jonesboro, Ark., and Tucson, Ariz., and are expected to be very high. Reefer demand to/from Texarkana, Texas, and Fayetteville, Ark., is likely to increase.
Power only demand and rates for San Diego will be extremely high. Power only demand for Mobile, Ala., and Savannah, Ga., is projected to rise.
Dry van demand and rates for Ithaca, N.Y., likely will increase.
Where Freight Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week
Flatbed demand and rates for Fayetteville, Ark., are expected to be low. Flatbed demand inbound to and outbound from Gary, Ind., is likely to decline.
Reefer demand and rates for Pittsburgh and Hartford, Conn., are projected to remain very low.
Power only demand and rates for Portland, Ore., will be extremely low. Power only demand to/from Philadelphia and Jackson, Miss., is expected to decrease.
Dry van demand and rates for Minot, N.D., are likely to remain low.

Market To Watch: In the coming week, demand for power only capacity to/from Mobile, Ala., is expected to increase significantly.
The San Diego power only market will favor carriers and drivers by more than two to one this week.
According to FreightWaves’ Weekly Fuel Report, the average truck stop price for a gallon of diesel fuel is $5.35, a decrease of 7 cents over the last week.
