Happy Friday, truckers and carriers, and welcome to this end-of-week edition of Trucker Tools’ “Where’s the Freight?” This and every edition of “Where’s the Freight?” provides you with information on where demand for truck capacity will be highest, lowest, increasing and decreasing in the coming week. With this information, you can avoid taking loads into markets where demand (and rates) are likely to be low and prioritize markets where demand and backhaul rates are likely to be high.
In today’s freight forecast, you’ll notice that three of the five markets in our Top Five Hottest Markets list are reefer markets, with Ithaca, N.Y., projected to be the highest demand/rate reefer market this week. If you’re running flatbed, you’ll want to make loads to/from Texarkana, Texas, a priority this week since it’s expected to be the highest demand/rate market in North America in the coming week. You also can expect demand and rates for dry van capacity to/from Gary, Ind., to increase, while power only demand to/from Montgomery, Ala., and Fort Worth, Texas will be extremely low over the next five to seven days.
